Water gardens are excellent in any climate, but if you live in areas which are in the desert regions or undergoing a drought, you should consider skipping out on the water garden and opting for something a bit more suited to your region. Nevertheless, once you have decided to build a water garden for yourself, you will want to head down to a water garden store (or visit one online) and decide it you want to build it yourself from a water garden kit or hire some professional contractors to do the tough work for you.

For those who opt for the kit method, you will be making many trips to your local water garden supply warehouse to pick up the various supplies and knick knacks that will make your water garden truly stand out amongst its peers. When constructing your very own large scale pond water garden, you should prize two pieces of equipment above all others. As with a pool, these two important machines are the water garden filter and the water garden pump. The filter will allow your water garden to maintain its clear look and remove any debris while the pump will keep the water from getting stagnant and generating mold or mosquitoes. Once the garden is completed, you should add a variety of water garden fish, water garden plants and even a water garden fountain or two if you want to go overboard.

If you like the idea of the water garden but do not have enough space or money to construct a full scale pond water garden, you can always opt for the container water garden. These are almost exactly like their larger cousins, except there are contained in a smaller space - generally a pot or a trough like structure.
